There is a hip new winery in the Valley of the Moon and I was excited to find that rumor is once their gorgeous Hacienda has finished being renovated they will be hosting weddings! According to Scribe they are not taking weddings in 2013, however, I wanted to share these lovely photos that the fab Mary McHenry captured of a couple doing their engagement session on property – more gorg imagery here. And make sure to check back with them as I know this will be a wedding venue hot spot in years to come! I hope to do a site visit as soon as they are in action as well!
I am pretty excited about a new venue in the Santa Cruz Mountains called Stones & Flowers – A Barn Retreat. I am trying to get out to visit it so I can share details with all you lovely readers — keep checking back for an in-depth review. For now, visit their website – this location looks pretty incredible if you ask me!
I was a little giddy when I saw Sarah’s Stands gorgeous new cake stand this morning! How perfectly pretty are these natural wood cake stands? I am usually a vintage milk glass cake stand girl, but for an outdoor natural and rustic wine country party – this baby would be perfect! Round or square, take your pick!
Hi friends! I am headed up to wine country this weekend and am super excited to stay in a new little place called the Olea Hotel in Glen Ellen. It looks adorable. Our dinner destination is Olive and Vine and I have heard all sorts of amazing things about this restaurant and am excited for a late night dinner with my man. I can’t wait to share with you my reviews of both places! I will also be visiting Kunde Family Estate for a wedding so I will have all sorts of fun to report back on next week! Happy Weekend!

So excited to be heading up to wine country this weekend and visit not one, but two valleys. The event planner in me has kicked in to high gear and I literally have a timeline for where we will be at any given moment. Friday night we will head to Sonoma and stuff ourselves silly at The Girl and The Fig which is right off of the Sonoma Square. The Square is full of art galleries and cute little shops and is a great spot for a post dinner walk.
Saturday we will head over to Napa which takes about 30 minutes on the Oakville Grade. One of my favorites wineries to stop at is St. Supéry as it has a ton of different varietals of wine – you can truly expand your knowledge of all different kinds of wines! Their grounds are beautiful and the staff is very friendly and casual, which can sometimes be hard to find in Napa Valley tasting rooms. Next stop, Dean & Deluca to satisfy the chef in my husband and the foodie in me. We will grab some picnic items and then head up to Ehlers Estate’s gorgeous winey built in 1886. They have a lovely little picnic area and bocce ball court where I once managed to dump a whole glass of red all over my white shirt (who wears white to wine country – I do!!)
The final stop for the day is the town of Calistoga, at the very top of Napa Valley, where we will check into Indian Springs. Then, I will promptly throw my suit on and head to the new adult pool to catch some afternoon rays. One of the best things about Calistoga is the quick walk to downtown for dinner, live music and shopping. I plan to pop into Brennan’s for a pre-dinner cocktail and some jazz, then over to JoLe for dinner, and finally some post-dinner dancing at the Hydro Bar. I can’t wait! Happy Weekend!!

Pretty excited to be celebrating 8 years of wedded bliss and can’t wait to return and visit The Harvest Inn later this month, where we got hitched in July 2004! Crazy how time flies…

Was your fourth full of fireworks? Sadly, mine wasn’t – I still had a darn good time, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes a good fireworks show is hard to find. And a good fireworks show without a gajillion people is even harder to find. And actually, a good fireworks show with great food and wine – well, some would say impossible! So considering that I want to spend all my free time in wine country, I did some research and found one of the hot spots for a great show on the Fourth of July – quite the feat if I do say so!
Louis M. Martini winery holds a fantastical event every fourth, puts fireworks on for the entire Valley, but you can get a seat front and center at their winery. The event typically sells out and has yummy food and wine pairings, great music and family fun. Next year my family and I will be wine sipping, game playing and firework watching from this awesome event. See you there!

Hello! I wanted to share this gorgeous wedding from another favorite photographer of mine, Nicole Goddard. Wait until you see some of these shots – the cutest couple, Andrea and Sean, and Nicole truly captured their love in the beautiful setting of Carmel Valley Wine Country. This wedding was planned by the fab Christy Daly with Allure Consulting. And florals were by the talented Anne Mendenhall, such gorgeous flowers! Love all the pretty pops of purple and details galore. One of my favorite things at this wedding was all of the special touches the bride and groom planned with Christy – in my opinion the best being the late night cereal bar! The reception venue, Bernardus Lodge, is in my overall top 5 for wine country weddings. The service, food and wine is unreal, all your guests can stay onsite and have this amazing weekend adventure at the spa, tasting wine, or just relaxing. The setting is so romantic with backdrops of the Carmel Valley, lush vineyards and of course who doesn’t love a good game of lawn bocce ball or a night cap by a roaring fire pit. My favorite photo is the very last one – how Sean is looking at Andrea, and that smile on her face – it just kinda makes my heart all happy! Enjoy!
